Anointing needs some work

I like the concept of anointing amulets to open up build possibilities, however there is one thing that really bugs me in that you cannot anoint corrupted items. This seriously devalues all Talismans to the point of being practically worthless, including Eyes of the Greatwolf as a good anointment on a mediocre Amulet is going to be better than no anointment on an excellent Talisman.

What's more with Whispers of Doom being one of the best Anointments for many builds it devalues corrupting an item to get an additional curse as Oil's make it deterministic. This is one of the main reasons for corruting Amulets.

As anointing is not actually changing the item, just putting some oil on it so corruption shouldn't matter from a lore/ingame logic basis either.

I would not like corrupted amulet to be anointable because it would be inconsistent, but ... I agree that anointement make talismans mostly worthless, which is nota great thing at all.

So I guess allowing anointing corrupted amulet might not be that bad ?
It's all stupid powercreep to me at the end though, allowing anointing corrupted amulets makes it slightly worse too.

It's only inconsistent if you consider anointing to be changing the item but I'd argue that anointing by it's very definition doesn't modify the item in a physsical sense. Anyway you can modify sockets on corrupted items, so maybe add a Vaal orb cost to add an anointment to corrupted items? I Would happily pay a few hundred Vaal for that.

Agreed about the powercreep, hopefully in 3.9 > PoE 2 they address that as the game is no longer about clearing the content which is easy, just doing it as fast as possible. It would help balance melee as well if it was easier but slower vs harder but quicker with spells/ranged.

I like the additional vaal orb cost !
