Constantly overleveled

Hey!
I'm really tired of being constantly overleveled during campaign playthrough. Is GGG planning to change that thing in terms of new expansions and updates?
It would be great to feel a boss fight as a boss fight not as a regular-mob-with-larger-hp-pool-fight.

Your level relative to the monsters' level during the campaign is up to you more than it's up to GGG. You determine how much xp you get by deciding how many monsters to kill. Most experienced players run the story slightly underlevelled because they try to avoid killing monsters more than necessary.

The only way GGG could really influence this is by changing xp so radically that you were bascially forced to kill every mob you passed in order to keep up in levels. That would...not be well received, let's put it that way.

Thanks for the answer. Do league mechanics scale with a zone level or my character level? Maybe it is the reason for my overlevel.
All monsters in a zone will be based on the level of the zone, not yours. Including ones spawned by league mechanics.

From an efficiency point of view, your issue generally means you are killing too much trash. A general rule for pushing through campaign fast is to be 2-3 levels below every zone as you go through it.

If you find you are on-level or above the level of the zone as you do the campaign, stop killing and focus on running through fast instead.

The current approach is pretty well balanced and flexible.

A newbie who doesn't know the story line tends to wander around and ends up killing most monsters in the zone. Being over level is helpful for a newbie, because it makes the content a little easier, especially when it's also your first character and you have no uniques to boost your stats.

More experienced players don't need the extra assist from being over leveled, and can just race through.

Everybody wins.

League mechanics can influence this since they often involve a lot of killing. If you do every Blight encounter in every zone, you are going to have to avoid killing much else if you want to stay under.

Yeah, I found league mechanic real easy so I was doing it since act 1.
Wound up Lv74 when I fought Kitava in act 10! LOL, that blight really stacks on the levels. Trying to get out of, break every barrel open every chest, kill every monster. It's hard, but if I want to get faster... and I do want to get faster.
I'd say ignore league content, but I got a Tabula in act 2 so I'll never skip league stuff again! Guess I ain't no racer!
I will wear your ghost and you will die twice, against me and for me.
That is some cold blooded shit to say...
Honestly, your power is likely more based on gear, links and skills used than it is level.

Extra talent points are ok but you can faceroll the campaign even underleveled.

It just means you have a strong build. This will change with harder content in the atlas and delve.

I don't see the problem at all. Until you are a racer there really is no such thing as overleveled at all or at least nothing you should care about. If you want to play more efficent for whatever reason just kill less mosters in every zone but as I said why would you if you aren't a racer? Reaching maps 1 or 2 hours earlier is completely pointless until you are a racer. Simply play the campaign as you like and don't worry about being overleveled at all.

You must be doing something right if you just breeze through the acts
I usually skip as much as I can during leveling. But farm Act 10 until I'm confident that I can easily do Merc Lab before killing Kitava and getting another -30% resists. So I'm usually around 65~70 before mapping.

Like others have said, if you're not racing or trying to be the first to get rich, don't worry about your level, just kill and have fun, the couple of hours lost isn't going to change anything.
