Poison scaling from spell damage and 'base hit'

After the changes to poison to be based off the 'base hit', I am trying to figure out how poison damage from spells work.

If I poison on spell hit (lets say using Volk gloves for cold damage can poison), which passives increase the poison damage?

Wiki suggests any passive which increases one of (damage, damage over time, poison damage) would increase it, but both passive and gear that increases cold damage or spell damage would only increase the hit but not the poison.

So, if I wanted a build that scaled poison, could I use spiritual aid and get global damage from minion damage, scaling the cold and poison? I know it doesnt double dip, but it should impact both?

So if I understand it right;

1) Hit should increase from spell, cold, penetration, global damage, minion damage with spiritual aid, and +damage to spells

2) Poison should increase from global damage, minion damage with spiritual aid, and flat +cold/physical/chaos damage to spell?

3) I assume elemental equilibrium or cold resistance curses do nothing to increase poison damage, they would increase the hit but not the poison.

4) Malevolence increases poison damage, but not the initial hit.

It would be nice if this were described somewhere ingame... Or, just let us see the actual damage calculation that the game does when we use a skill (minus things like monster resist).

Have a target dummy in the hideout and when you hit it, you can click on it and it displays the calculation for the last time you did damage to it.
