SSD loading times slow
|
I lived in old adress, and everything was ok. I have ssd and loading times of maps, hideout etc were ~2-3 secs.
Then I moved to live on another adress (same isp, new connection (orange fibernet)). And my loading times was about 5-6 secs slower (same pc). Anybody have some hints, what it could cause? Sorry for my english, i know I'm not very good at it :) Last bumped on Sep 24, 2019, 1:01:43 PM

SSDs can crawl to near levels of mechnical drives if it's full.
So if your SSD is nearly filled up, that might be the cause of it. No rest for the wicked.

It can also be that your ISP's network in that area is faulty.
Make a WinMTR report to confirm this.... |

Yes, some SSDs will automatically take unused storage space and use it as a large read/write buffer. So as free space goes down so does this buffer. It's all done by the SSD cpu programming so as far as Windows (or any OS) is concerned you have x amount of free storage space.
Some of the cheapest drives forgo using a fast ram cache and rely entirely upon the free memory of the drive as the buffer. To understand your PoE slowing down (assuming your Internet latency to the PoE realm hasn't gotten worse) you will need to post your SSD make and model # so we can look up the technical specs. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

Thx guys, I'll try that utility, will report later when I'll come home from work.

ok, so here is my winmtr report
https://pastebin.com/CYw7dDTk And my ssd is crucial mx200. EDIT: cleaning up some space on my ssd drastically shortens my loading times. Anyway thank you exiles, may the rng be with you :) Last edited by zoniq#7248 on Sep 23, 2019, 1:04:55 PM

" yeah WinMTR report looks perfect and you found the problems being the SSD was to full, so you will have to avoid that. |

Sadly, the loading times are again long after I ran few maps.
I'm starting to think these 8-10 secs long loading times are ok. But I realy don't know, because it was better on old adress, when legion league was running. |

delete shader cache folders in game dir, it might help too
![]() also you can try usihg Latency Monitor, to check if sata drivers working properly and dont have high latency https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon Last edited by Sonidox#3895 on Sep 24, 2019, 1:13:57 PM

The above might actually work too, or at least help to an extent.
I am also curious - how long do you have your SSD? because afaik, their performance deteriorates in shorter time span than mechanical drives, especially if it's excessively used as in files constantly being moves in/out of it. No rest for the wicked.
