Crafting an armor with a fossil

Hi,

I'm a complete noob when it comes to crafting, I crafted alot like 4-5 seasons back, but never used the new crafting stuff, in which fossils is 1 of them...

I mostly just slap essences...

Now I'm buying these ethereal cards will give me a 6 link chest piece called vaal ragalia....

I can then either slap essences on it, or decide to do some crafting....

My guide uses this armor with +1 to int gems and all other stats are just crafted (with the craft can have more crafted stats).

I found that a faceted fossil can craft you this +1 to int gems...

So some questions:
1. I could also just get +1 to str gems and I will have to remove it and do it again?
2. You can use more fossils, but if I just use faceted fossil, will it just give me 1 stat? Or does it work like an essence with 1 garantueed stat called +1 to gems (and totally random which 1 it is?
3. if I use more fossils, and I get 6 stats, 1 being that +1 to int gem I want, 5 totally crap stats, I can then use orb of annuls and pray to god I just remove other stats, or scour and try again?
4. Any advices, or a link to a good fossil guide, much appreciated, cuz i couldnt find a single 1 ;/

You can see the entire pool of mods (in your case, look at the 'Body Armour' section and the 'Delve' section, ignore all mods in the shaper/elder section coz they wont apply.

You can then check what fossil you're using and see the updated mod pool.

Hey thanks for ur response, however didnt answer all of my questions...

Also no way to involve the shaper options in this armor?

1. So using the faceted can get me any of the 3, or is there more chance? If I check the faceted fossil box, it still can giveg all 3 options?
2. It will have 6 stats? or totally random how many stats I will get? after the fossils choices...
3. I want life to be as high as possible, so I could use Pristine, but I would want energy shield as well, so I'm better off using only the faceted then, and hope for the best, if I get no life I can try to annul and craft it?

1) Yes, it has a chance to roll all three and you have no way to target one in particular.

2) Random with a minimum of 3 stats (since it will be rare)

3) If you want life and ES, you cant use pristine or dense. Just have to get lucky.

If you want to involve the shaper/elder mods, you will need your Vaal Regalia to be a Shaped or Elder Vaal regalia. You should also know that since you are using the ethereal card to get your crafting base, your Regalia will be capped at ilvl 80 which means the highest tiers of many mods will be unavailable to you.

Crafting in poe requires a TON of luck and a TON of currency. In most cases, it is cheaper and better to simply buy the gear you need FYI.

Thanks lots big help...

I'm playing hardcore, and theres simply not much available at the market...
And got 600ish chaos so thought about the fossil...

But maybe I'm better of slapping high essence of greed so I get 90ish life and random other stats? As I pretty much only need high life, got all the resistances I need. And besides shaper mods after life theres just not many good rolls my item can have...

I was thinking
life
(the faceted fossil + int gems)
energy shield mods
after that (cuz i dont need resists) its pretty useless mods

Faceted Fossils are really expensive but I have very limited experience with them so can´t tell you about chances to spawn + skills.

If you need just +1 inteligence gems you should rather consider

+1 to Level of Socketed Active Skill Gems shaper mod (you need ilvl 80+ Shaper base though)
or maybe better
+1 to Level of Socketed Support Gems on Elder base (ilvl 80+)
It gives +1 if get an empower gem!

You can also roll (5–8)% increased maximum Life on Elder base (9-12 for ivl 85)

I think you can get it quite cheap without being 6-linked
And use classic alts method.
I would try to link it first while adding as much quality as possible.
(quality fossil x syndicate + the highest quality mod --- up to 48-50%)
High quality will help you to roll 6-linked easier (although not guaranteed).
