Shock effect stormblast mine and skitterbots

Hey folks,

I was wondering if shock effect from stormblast mines increases the shock effect if Skitterbots shock the enemy.

I'm running elemental focus so my mines don't shock. My guild mates say it only applies if the mine did the shock.
