Blighted Maps too Difficult for non-meta
|
Blighted maps baiscly require you to sit right ontop of the pump and never move. Simply can't move to create the towers without being overwhelmed on other sides. This is compounded by them getting mods like Proximity shield. It wouldn't be that bad if the rewards wasn't so bad when you failed. But spending that amount of time in a map to get so little rewards is terrible. Looks like this is a mechanic to skip unless it gets toned down.

You have a lot of choices possible, you can drop skelleton/totems/ slowing/paralysing tower on 2 sides and kill the other sides with your build, it usually do the trick.
You can also stay in the middle with a few sloing tower and Cyclone/ burst what is slowly comming. Slowing tower are great because for little investment you can just eradicate the mobs with any regular skills, you have enough time. I'm not to far but on T5 i can easily do all the little BLight (not Blighted maps) with mostly minions and 0 Towers. The minimap infos helps a lot to know where to run because its not often that all the lanes are full of mobs. |

" it's not the blight encounters in regular maps that are the issue. those are easy for everyone. it's the actual blighted maps that spawn thousands of enemies for 5 minutes straight in every direction possible, (sometimes even right on top of the pump) and leave you helpless. it's not possible to dps them all on you're own. it's not possible to run around upgrading towers due to new routes constantly spawning. it's not possible to burst down a boss, as by the time you have, it's over. other routes have killed the pump. And even if you get 4 minutes 30 seconds into it, and then die, the rewards are equal to 1 or 2 runs of blood aqueducts at best. Yes, some have had more success. Some have not had minnion portal spawn on top or right beside the pump. Some have OP gear / playing the meta builds and can easily clear them. But not everyone is playing meta. not everyone has great gear. And I'm talking about blighted t2 maps here. I'd understand if it were red maps.... but t2, and it's insta fail 90% of the time. :( |

If enemies didn't come from multiple directions or right next to the pump it would not be difficult to kill them alone, I think these situations should be restricted to when you're not playing alone

Actually, can agree.
Also unique monsters on T5 have more hp than T16 Minotaur.. seems so. |

Agree completely. Portals from many directions all the time, it's undefendeble.
If i stop to upgrade any tower i die. |

I've only played for a few hours and haven't yet got to the Atlas, however...
From what little experience I have had with the mechanic, I can see that not every Blight is meant to be "Winnable" by every build. And, some are going to be next to impossible for certain builds to do successfully. I'm playing a leveling build that will transition to a Totem build, so I'm not too worried about end-game Blights in terms of my character's positioning. But, for now, using Frost Blades, I can not very easily defend for some Blights and it is sometimes not possible to use more than a few close-by towers without extreme risk in Blights with multiple lanes of attack. I realize it's a low-level character and such, but in my experience with PoE League mechanics as one progresses, they usually give a decent indication of what to expect as they develop deeper in the game. If the mechanic holds true, I can see how players of some builds are going to have a difficult time in high level maps with Blight. (I probably won't, 'cause Totems... :) ) Basically - Not every Blight will be "doable" by every build. Certain builds are going to have a big advantage over others and that advantage is "one way" - Builds that use radically different mechanics aren't going to have a similar advantage on some opposing spectrum of the encounter. There have been some builds that have had trouble with certain League mechanics in the past, but this current one does stand out a bit in terms of Build Preferences aimed specifically at this mechanic. Note: This shouldn't be a terrible problem in terms of completing enough Blights to benefit from the League mechanics. We should get plenty of them. Later, though, it may be advisable to tone some of the frequency of multi-lane encounters down if it's included in the base game for future Leagues.
