Memory allocation issue causes crashes (to desktop)
Related to my post in PoE Client Crashing straight to Desktop: No Error Message I've done some more testing.
I use Win7 32-bit (with 4 GB RAM) and starting POE only to the login screen shows in the Task Manager ~2 GB allocated memory. And just login one of my characters to Epilogue (Oriath City) increases the memory to ~2.5 GB. And then teleporting to another location (or opening the skill tree and zoom in) one of the following errors appear: - [EXCEPTION] CreateBuffer - [EXCEPTION] Can not create thread - [CRIT Client xxx] Out-of-memory (-> crash to desktop without message box, but shown in the log file) I always use "-gc 2" as command line parameter and there's (nearly) no difference in memory for using "--noasync" (pre-loading) or not. Before this update 3.8 I have played hours without any crashes (and the allocated memory was smaller: after login and teleporting to hideout only 1.2 - 1.5 GB and even after playing some maps it was never greater than 2.2 GB - I know this, cause I always close other apps and look in the Task Manager for CPU load and free memory before starting POE). I hope the developers are looking [as an high priority issue!] into this (cause there are many bug reports - also on reddit - related to desktop crashes)!
