Patching Server - If All Else Fails, Try This....
1. Uninstall PoE and delete everything that remains.
2. Download the Standalone Installer and run it to unpack the files, but don't use it to install the game. Download here: https://www.pathofexile.com/downloads/PathOfExileInstaller.exe Once unpacked, you should have an executable and a few other files. 3. Get Steam and install the whole game through that. 4. Copy the exe you got from Standalone Installer to Steam Directory. Usually that would be in: \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile Once installed and exe was replaced, you could get a minor patch that quickly finishes (something like 80MB) If anyone with DC from instance server issue would try this out it would be nice to hear some feedback and see if there's a problem with the files/Launcher. This process is for those trying to install PoE via Standalone installer that sometimes fails to work properly, the Steam version works better, but not everyone wants to use Steam. This process will keep you from running Steam when you're playing, you just need it to install the game for you, so you can delete Steam when you're done. And you don't have to worry about firewall issues, that doesn't work anyway... Something people will tell you that doesn't work. It's not a Firewall or AntiVirus issues, it's an issue with the Launcher. It would be fun to see support solving this issue anytime soon. #itsjustpoe Last edited by PunkBuzter#1041 on Sep 13, 2019, 10:05:49 PM Last bumped on Mar 2, 2020, 9:07:33 AM

if you run the standalone exe in the steam poe folder it might work but you have to run it with the command line which prevents it modifying the resource file.
if the standalone exe patches content.ggpk, steam can't use it anymore and needs to patch it again. youre better off installing the standalone version and copy content.ggpk over from steam (interrupt the installer while it allocates space). the standalone version can use steams ressource file age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
