Why does it suck so bad?

I just happened to find one while cleaning out my stash and, looking at it, I was rather astounded to see its 8 second cooldown (that's longer than many of the new supertraps!)

Apparently you can only throw ONE, or expend all three uses if you're using additional traps supports.


Shouldn't this skill be looked at? I mean, dominating blow got a serious rework, and this is (more or less) a trap version of the same ability, right?

Needless to say, I trashed that gem and continued the inexorable 50+ tab cleanup.

I think they see it as being a targeted effect, only really used on rares and not to generate an army of whites.

Dom blow, then. You wade into the pack and hit the rare a couple of times, and you get its buffs for half a minute (but only 1x). It also won't turn on you at the end of the duration.

I was just rather astounded to see a skillgem that sucked soooo bad still in the game, I forgot it even existed until I stumbled upon it (prolly scraped up from a lab gems chest).

Not sure if they changed it, but back when I used it often, you could support it with multiple traps and have 9 conversion traps, which is not to be sneezed at as a decoy and possibly buff stealer.

Loved to convert totems for extra crit or the cannot die aura.
