Combining elements to have new element effect

Yeah, I know, you think to Warframe.
And you're right, it's same idea.
Could be interesting that when a skill have some cold and fire damage, it make some explosive damage in addition, fire and poison make disease, lightning and cold... something else... and so on.

Just an idea.

The mystery boxes support combining mtx'es. The development effort to support a combined mtx is about the same as the original 2 mtx'es that are being combined. The reason they support combining mystery box mtx'es is that people that bought a huge amount of boxes won't feel as bad about the duplicates and it will encourage more mystery box purchases.

Wouldn't what you're proposing just be a new mtx and so why not just sell the new mtx directly? I see no advantage to GGG or to players for what you propose. I suspect that maybe I have just misunderstood your proposal though?

His post not about MTX at all. It's about skills and combining them into another skills, like element combinations in Magica.

The title got my brain expecting the wrong topic! Apologies. Thank you for clarifying.

Actually i think of Divinity: Original Sin 2 which has a pretty nice system for doing what you are describing there, you can combine surfaces, clouds and elements to do a great deal of things and funny enough it features a light vs dark sort of theme that also plays into the interactions quite a bit. It would be a pretty interesting element to see in a game like path of exile.

If you have not checked the game out i highly recommend doing so for when you need a short break from POE or in the down time between leagues :P

Yep you right, Divinity Original Sin has the same elemental combination, a great turn by turn rpg (but it goes very hard quickly, even in normal mode).
Lightning dmg + Cold dmg = Storm dmg, by example.
POE is based on elemental dmg, this could be great.

Yeah it would be great to need 5*4/2 = 10 new resistances get stacked up to 75% from -60%

no if the needed resistance is = 30 % of the two resistances of elements that form the new element.

Solved.

Also i support this idea, but only if this finaly fixes wild strike and ele hit into a state of *useable* or *viable* :P
because poisoned ignited burning bleeding chilled frozen shocked is not enough.

Cant wait to craft my 45 other ailment immunity flasks.

Don't forget turned to stone, covered in ash, and those other new ailments the map mod helms give.
