Perfect fossil on +20% quality items/ items past 30%

Is it possible to use a perfect fossil on an item that has been upgraded to +20% item quality by whetstones or armscraps to make it past 20%? Would the +20 initial quality be cancelled or will the quality be added to the whetsone/armorer's?



Also is the only way to get past 30% quality to get the betrayal council mission completed with the bench that upgrade quality and do it many times?

Perfect fossils (and whetstones/scraps) affect the base item quality.

A perfect fossil will change an item to have a random quality between 15 and 30%, ignoring what the items previous quality is.

IF the item also has a crafted modifier with quality, that is not taken into account when the fossil is used (but fossils also reroll the item, so that crafted mod will not be there on the end result item).

To get above 30% quality, you have to use the crafting bench in your hideout to craft a hybrid X/+ quality craft. The safehouse bench will NOT work.
