OP builds are Game Breaking

Anyone else find it ironic that the entire focus of this league is legion and if you build a character specifically for it you crash the game? I spent a few days building an entirely new character for the sole reason of funding my main char. I did this because I wanted a character who could go into maps and DIE and have it not matter to me. So I built an assasin with carcas jack vaal-nova setup, maximum area damage, area of effect, spell crit, and even running that light radius setup which applies the increase to radius to area of effect. Well... it works in theory, in practice I actually have to have a friend come with me because once I pop the pillar and nova bomb my FPS goes to ZERO. It stays at zero then the game dashboards. I have to then restart and rejoin my friend who actually stays in the map and does all the killing. Then we split the loot.

Now is this the intended result? Why not give us options to disable or lower the post-processing effects to help alleviate this ridiculous obsurdity? I've always been in favor of the exp penality in practice because it use to punish those who threw caution to the wind in favor of those who went in prepared. In other words the exp penality prevented failing forwarding leveling. At this point however I honestly believe that over 80% of my deaths are from de-sync or crashing. That is a very conservative estimation as my peers all claim it to be much closer to 90%. Perhaps it's time to re-evaluate the exp penality, consider removing it untill this plague is resolved or at least reduce it to 5%.

CAN WE PLEASE GET SOME OPTIONS!!!! If you won't fix the game then let us tone down the FXs so those of us who still enjoy it can play it without wanting to murder kittens every 30 mins from frame loss.

Well it sounds like the solution is to follow your friends build. 😅 No, but seriously I just came back to playing on console after a few years of not playing PC and I am having the same problems with my cyclone duelist. I am just now getting into map gameplay and I am very limited on what I can do in terms of keeping my game from seizing up (Especially so with legion content.) I hope there’s a solution being implemented because I don’t have the desire to PC game anymore and I love PoE.

What Xbox version you using? Internal HDD or external or SSD?

I've been running ED / contagion on an X1X w/ SSD and not crashed when hitting mono's. It will drop below 10 FPS at the start of it but catch up very quickly.

Ive done the same essence drain/contagion combo on xbox s with external ssd it will dip to 1fps for a couple of seconds but then comes right. I made a few characters for mononlith farming but on xbox s its just to janky to be enjoyable.
At this rate i would say xbox s will be no go for poe in 2 years its already pretty unacceptable.

Honestly it feels like the X1X SSD combo is what PoE was designed to run on. With little to no consideration for the other consoles.

I'm just sick of dying due to the lag caused by rares with the quick aura, every time they appear i lag so bad and die.

All my deaths come from horrible internet, or thinking it was a good idea to sit by all the rares I broke out and try to nuke them. Or those Vine Snare pricks, that stuff is just messed up.

I using an Xbox X with an internal Samsung 850evo swap. I have even replaced the crusty cake like thermal grease with the good stuff. Replaced the green goop on the BGA memory with pads. I tested all this using a thermal laser and my Xbox runs roughly 5c cooler than stock. So it’s not a heat or hard drive issue. I certainly find it funny that you mention 5G... I hope your joking... I use a wire of course and still get the same issues. This is just shady porting with lack of testing and the refusal to provide the end user with options.

Your right its basically poe from before lockstep with worse trading options. All these things help but unless theres a solid decision to treat console as its own thing and improve accordingly nothing will change.
Funny how apologetic Chris is for every pc (generally league) mistake on reddit yet console is barely a mention and when it is its doubling down on previous mistakes (decisions).
