Stuck at allocating space
Hi,
last friday i had a windows 10 update that crashed my widonws, could not restore it and had to clean whole drive , and with it my poe installation. after that reformatted the disk , created new partitions , installed windows , dowloaded drivers etc, but when i am trying to install poe, directly or via steam it gets stuck at allocating space. i have more than 1tb of free space , and ve been waiting for 10hrs before restarting the client, nad itot stuck at it again. Previously i have waited for bout 2-3 hours to download whole game, but now it is impossible to download. this problem is only with poe, any other game is downloading without any problems ...please help guys!!! im having the same problem, with a 45mb update. its been using ~30MB/s of diskspace for the last ~13 minutes.
this is the only game on steam that has this problem for me out of 142 games. Would just like to know why this is seeming such a problem since at least 2012 that apparently every other game company in existence seems to have figured out. what is it doing for so long ?? |

" you're using the steam client or the standalone version? steam requires the resource file to be the same as ggg releases it, resulting in more data being downloaded the standalone version can patch individual files into the resource file (content.ggpk) under the price of having to extent the internal (fast indexing) file system in the file. that's what it does when it says "allocating space", it allocates space in the resource file to be able to add more files age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
