What map to use elder orb on?

I've just recently gotten my elder's orb and have no idea what to bump up to tier 16. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

the answer, as always, is it depends.

Is this the map you wish to farm forever and ever? Then pick one you like and/or drops stuff you want to farm.

Are you going to farm another map for fun and profit? Then you may need to use your elder orb along with a shaper orb to 'shape' your atlas to manipulate map drops.

First of all, it depends on what you want to do. If you plan on just adding another map to your T16 pool, then you just pick your favorite map.

If you plan on running it for loot/experience and spamming it, then you want to pick a map with good pack density and layout, and then probably manipulate your atlas so that only it can drop. Most people that want to do this will at the very least un-complete their guardian maps.

Another common use for it is actually erasing a low tier map in order for that map to not drop anymore at lower levels. For this league farming Glacier is very profitable, so people often use one Shaper Orb and Elder Orb on the 2 tier 3 maps next to Glacier.

Finally, it is possible to un-shape/elder your maps and get the orb back, which just cost 20 Chisels and 5 Regrets, so don't feel that your choice is irreversible.

Surely there's a better reply. Something like, "It depends, but..."

I'd imagine OP would like a recommendation based on what most players would use the orb on, given the dynamics of the Legion League.

I realize that every build has different demands, but without knowing OP's specific League goals, can't a "default" recommendation be offered?

Personally, I'm thinking about using the orb (assuming I ever get one) on something like the Beach map, since my little Spectres seem to do pretty well there.

Thank you for all the replies I've been using a cyclone and ed contagion build this league. I think picking a map well suited to legion to clear as fast as possible might be my best option since I'm not so familiar with which maps drop expensive items.

Either Leyline or Mausoleum so that you can farm and sustain glacier.

Actually, any shaped maps worsening the map drop. Also you will have difficultien with them if you'll want to exchange maps.

Glacier is the best map for focusing on popping all legion stuff, although most people prefer keeping it at T2 for self-sustain. While it is not the best representation, you can see here the price of T16 maps on poe.ninja to roughly see what maps are more "in demand"
