Classical Internet Restart Problem
Hi, I have seen a ton of threads about this yet not a single working solution/suggestion whatsoever. I used to play this game back in the Abyss League, 've quit for a while and came back now on Legion and been playing it for 1-2 weeks now I suppose. The first days were okay in terms of connection, yet last 3 days, I've been getting constant disconnections from the game, and not regular ones.
Every single time that I get disconnected from the game, It also completely resets my connection too. None of the other devices (phones etc.) can connect the internet for at least 10 seconds, It's a bummer because it happens very often (every 5-10 minutes). I realized it's a DSL issue that every single disconnect from the game resets my modem's DSL connection as well. Before people start with flooding the regular dumb responses: *Yes, I know for a fact that this is on the PoE's end not on mine, I can assure you I've played crap loads of games with the very same connection (whether demanding or not demanding). *Firewalls (internet and PC wise) are not the issue, I've tried around exceptions and disabling all together. *My router can handle everything else smoothly, the ping I get with EU servers are around 40-60 normally, My upload and download speeds are decent, more than enough for such a game. *I've tried VPNs, a bunch of them, still the same problem. *The problem is NOT the lag, when I'm able to play I don't even get lagged, 5 minutes of smooth 50-60 ping, then BAM, DSL restart. *I've uninstalled GeForce Experience, because some user suggested that in some thread. *Tried auto, predictive, lockstep. *Tried different servers. *Tried battleping etc. What I wonder is could the router deem that packets from the PoE are some sort of attack that it restarts itself? But even if so, such problem would go away when I disabled firewall and anti-attack options on the gateway, It did not however. Please come with actual, or fictional solutions that worked maybe for you, I'm well aware of regular stuff, I wouldn't open this thread if they've worked. Bump.

I'm not clear from your comments whether you have a DSL Modem/Router or two separate devices?
Regardless, if the router has the ability to log detailed connection information, I'd start with that. Router resets typically happen when the device is under extreme stress, has been configured badly or has an internal issue that may warrant replacement. I'd also make sure your network cables aren't damaged in anyway. I'd also check for any firmware updates for the device. |

So I've been having the same problem, and after a bit, I did a trace. Come to find out it's neither my end or GGG's end, it's a few jumps in between with significant packet loss.
I got it downloaded, and it was a pain in the royal... you get the idea. In the tech forums, common post (link below) , there is a bit about this, but not really named the same... Now keep the below file on hand (PatchCheck.exe), because every time the patcher errors out, you have to run that program, or it will just error out again. after a few hrs of this, you should have a downloaded patch. Note: Make sure it errors out before you close it, it may take some time, but it will patch.... eventually...or error out... But sometimes I'd get 25% for the wait. Note#2: With the PatchCheck.exe, wait for it to say "Press any key to continue" before you close it, or else you may have to redo it. It reads: The Patcher freezes and crashes every time. This is usually caused by Pack Corruption. Your first step would be to run the Pack Check, followed by patching the game again. If that fails, you’ll need to remove the content.ggpk file and reinstall the game. If a fresh copy of the game is still having errors, this usually means that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is sending you a corrupted copy of the game files that they have cached, or your virus scan is preventing the game from patching. Downloading the game on another system and copying it over would be your best bet. Please email chris@grinding-gear.com with the name of your ISP, and we'll try and figure out which provider has bad cached copies of the game. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/73322 Last edited by Gnawbie#4325 on Jun 29, 2019, 1:49:52 AM

" I have a DSL Modem (VDSL supported, which I'm using) it is up to date, I've checked the log, but It simply says DSL connection is lost, with error code ERROR_NO_CARRIER, just as if I pull out the DSL cable. I've seen people with very similar problems but none of them share same settings/set up with me. |

" Probably worth checking values for noise margin and attenuation. |

" Checked both, they are almost at the perfect level. From a similar thread, I've also noticed that packet loss is much higher when I run TMR with PoE running, otherwise it's around %1 above 800 packets. Could it have something to do with this? " TMR? Are you referring to the AT command or did you maen MTR? If the latter, you should post some details of what you''re seeing when you run an MTR. Edit: In reality, I can't see anything an MTR provides as being useful for finding the cause of your issue. If the modem log simply shows it disconnecting from your provider it's unlikely to be an issue between your computer and the modem. The more likely cause is something going bad in the modem or something to do with the physical connection between your modem and your provider. Last edited by Kellog#5737 on Jun 29, 2019, 7:25:02 AM

" Yeah my bad, I meant the MTR, i realized today running or not running PoE doesnt make a difference, it used to make a difference tho One with PoE in the background https://pastebin.com/mfrsjqmh Packet Loss is even worse today. |

" From that MTR your packet loss starts at the Modem and just continues all the way through. Is it a wired or wireless connection? |
