Can't invite or join parties

I was buying some items and messaging people when i got a party invite.
I can't remember exactly but I think i accepted the invite at the exact moment that I was changing zones from one hideout to another.
When the Zone loaded there was the same invite but this time the middle band of the invite that would normally have a players name and other information was missing.
I pressed accept and ever since if I invite someone to a party they see it as normal but I see no indication of sending the invite, of creating a party, of them joining or of actively being in a party.
I also don't see any party invites sent to me and if I try to join a party on the noticeboards in town I immediately leave the party upon joining and enter a cycle of randomly joining and leaving their party.

I have tried restarting the game and restarting my PC and neither of these has done anything. Has anyone else experienced this at all or something similar?

Edit: I've noticed that the moment i interact with the social/party system in any way (i.e. try to join a party, send an invite etc.) I can no longer change zones. The loading screen goes on forever and nothing happens.

Edit 3: Seems the most recent patch fixed my issue :)
