Contagion FPS drops, crashing my PC // Possible bug?

Hey guys,

so I'm having a problem where PoE crashes my PC and I don't know why.
Drivers are up to date, just checked as of June 18th. Never had this issue before.
Game stutters a bit and FPS drop and spike (see screenshots). Playing the game faster with more APM make this more prevalent. Sometimes when I kill large groups of mobs it crashes and gives me a black screen until I manually hold my power button on the case and force a shut down.

Settings are the lowest they can be apart from the resolution. Tried fullscreen and windowed mode, VSync on/off, post-processing on/off, no changes.

Temps are normal to low (see screenshots).
Ping is also good.
Other games run fine.

Completely similar problem, faced it only today. Temperatures are normal, other games work wonderfully.
Graphics card by the way the same series - RX 470
Need help, impossible to play

Mine DxDiag:
Update:

Just installed patch 3.7.2 and checked if it fixed the problem for me.
Went to Blood Aqueducts and attacked the first group of mobs with ED/Contagion. Screen went black as soon as the first mobs died while my GPU fans started to spin like crazy. Had to manually power off my computer, because nothing happenend besides my GPU freaking out.
So problem still persists, apparently even worse than before, because the last couple of days I could play for some time, or atleast delay the crashes by playing very slowly.
Currently not playing PoE, because im afraid of killing my GPU and/or corrupting files with the constant shut downs.

Forgot to mention:
No overclocks active atm, everything is on stock settings.
Other games work perfectly fine at stable FPS including:
- League of Legends
- World of Warcraft
- Mordhau

Needing some help I guess...

Regards,
Lukas

Tested now multiple things and learned the following:

Playing different characters seems to make a difference. Playing on my Cyclone Slayer or Spectral Shieldthrow Deadeye didn't give me crashes, while the Cyclone has a bit less clearspeed than my ED/Cont and SST (which have similiar speed) I only crashed on the ED/Cont. However what confuses me about this, I only crash while hitting regular mob groups. Breaches, Legion encounters (or both coupled with beyond) are perfectly fine, never had any issues/crashes while doing those, on the flip side, chaining a few groups in blood aqueducts crashes me.
So maybe it has something to do with ED/Cont? The FPS spikes mostly happen when large groups of mobs die, the Contagion particles occur and when Contagion chains between packs.
Contrary to that, I had a ED/Cont character prior to the current, which didn't cause any problems (had him up to maps as well, but died). My profile is public so you can check my character wergheergrgerwes for any weird skill/passives effect setups that may cause crashes I guess?

To clarify a little bit, while playing the ED/Cont guy, FPS constantly spike between 60 FPS and 150 FPS which makes the game pretty bad to play on its own. However when the crash occurs, both my monitors turn black (doesn´t matter if I have something on my secondary monitor), my fans turn up like crazy while the PC still keeps on running. Sound does turn off and also voice chat turns off in addition to the black screens. So it doesn't really keep on running.
Yet still fans (GPU, case, CPU, PSU) and lights (GPU, Mobo, case fan) in my case continue to run. I think my PC would run on about forever in this state (never tested longer than a minute or too, because im afraid of the high fan speeds), so I have to hold down the power button until it shuts down. Restarting then works just perfectly fine with no error messages or unusual behaviour. Temps are normal as well.

I also read in older threads that maybe the game isn't getting enough RAM. While playing, the game mostly takes about 2-3 GB, which should be totally fine with my 16 GB, however I still changed my pagesize from the Windows assigned default 2 GB up to 4 GB min and max. However didn't seem to change anything, should I increase it even higher? Still, RAM usage isn't high or spiking while playing PoE.

Second thing I found were some older threads about the PSU being a problem. Never did any montioring or testing with my PSU since it worked perfectly fine (Corsair CS550M), so how should/could I find out if my PSU has any problems? HWMonitor seems to not have PSU monitoring.

Would be happy if some techs tune in to help me, thank you very much in advance!

Tested some more in my hideout and found out that actually Contagion on its own seems to be causing the problem.
Casting Contagion almost off screen doesn't scratch the FPS at all, however when I cast it on my own, the FPS drops start to happen. Also, the sound effect disappears when I cast it further away (still visible on screen), has this something to do with the FPS?

Tested some Curses, Bane and Flameblast as well in the same support combo (Faster Casting, Intensify, Inc. Aoe). These don't have relevant impact on FPS, even in spam mode with 0.29 secs cast time.

Bought a supporter pack then in order to test it with the Contagion MTX and the Arcane Contagion effect has even worse FPS drops than the normal one.

Is this regular behaviour, or do other people have problems with Contagion as well? Should I report this as a bug?

I've had about the worst fun in any league in the last week due to the fps drops it's just not fun at all.

Can we get GGG to spend some resources on addressing these major issues?, last league the game had it's problems. This league the game has more problems but the league is more fun in general.

Please fix the game for the many that are quitting due to the problems we are facing

And yes I have tried everything from clean installs, delete folders x,y,z clean up windows, update windows, update drives using clean installs. Setting refresh rates and playing with vsync even tho people say not to. Trust me the results is the same either way atm. Using commands to speed up certain loading issues. Messing with cores used. Closing 50 poe trade tabs to avoid fps drops. Using yet more programs to cap fps, using nvidia to turn on or off certain things. Following how to guides from other games also struggling with fps drops in other games this year. Nothing has worked
Found something else as well, maybe this will help you.
Turning off engine multithreading does turn down my average FPS to about 70/80, however I'm seeing way more stable FPS while in action, not sure why this is the case.
I would like to run engine multithreading with my 6 core CPU, however for some reason it lowers my performance.

Going to run some maps and find out if I will crash again.

Edit:
2 minutes later, already had 2 shut downs during one map, so no. Didn't change anything for me.

Since nobody responds in here, I thought I might just give an update. Problem continues on so I switched to other characters, games run fine on every build, except ED/Contagion.

Screenshot of spamming Contagion in hideout. You can cleary see where I started and where I stopped:

However I did notice that sometimes, my FPS seem to microstutter a bit when in close proximity of water, at shores to be clear. Zones with waves reaching the shore sometimes give me bad FPS. Twilight Strand and Beacon Act 6 were the zones I noticed it the most.

Would be glad if some tech support members could look into my problems.

Lukas
