Link steam account to new created account on POE but lose everything from steam....

I play this game in steam and try to login to my steam in POE website but is unable to access my steam account and all its stats. I thought maybe creating an account with POE website would do the trick and it got me in, so i link my steam account thinking that I would have all my achievements, characters, and in-game purchases, but NO, I was wrong. Now when I start POE, I am force to lose all my progress and purchases. It is such an inconvenient for me, I would appreciated it if you can help me unlink my official POE website account or have my steam account integrated into my the official POE website account. Thank You.

Oh my! I too just sent an email to unlink the botched linking of Steam and this account. Seriously, 3 days? Wow I will rack up hundreds if not thousands of F5 refreshes here and on my Check for Mail button on the email client. Oh god, this should be a fun week.

Yup, I too lost all characters and MTX to the what appears to be an infamous Account Linking problem. I just wish I had the insight to check *the internet* before I linked my Steam account to here. I never would of used their tool that *links* accounts together to start using the Stand Alone.

Sorry I'm dinging this thread again but I am so confused on the Linking process I need to ask:

1) By changing my email with the tool you linked above will this correct the problem and is it the missing link (pardon the pun) for *actually* Linking the accounts together?

2) because I used a brand new email for THIS account here, then linked my Steam account to this account. I am curious if the ***Linked Steam account email must match this accounts email*** in order to "for real" link accounts; because they do not match, is that the secret process that must happen?


So if I change my email HERE to the email Steam uses will that fix the problem or will it just push the whole problem further down the rabbit hole?

Currently both the Steam account and this account, which apparently the same now, have no characters and MTX.

The "Tool" doesnt do anything, its just for you to verify your email adress. then you email gggsupport with that adress, so they can find the Steam-ID that is linked to that EMail and unlink it. Thats all.

But it seems they dont have enough staff right now to process all of the bug reports and requests. Judging by the comments in the other Threads, they might even completely ignore/forget about our requests. Lets hope for the best.

Well, I tried the linked tool GGG posted, I used it, I DID get sent an email with a link to process the request, I clicked it and got this:

ROFL. Down down the rabbit hole we go. So now I have no clue if matching emails HERE and with Steam works because using their tool does not also work.

This is way out of control, absolutely ridiculous!!!!

At this point, and if it were not for the $$$$$ spent on MTX, I'd take the hit and lose my characters just to start playing today but I invested money into the steam account and I can't lose that. I have nothing now and can't play either because whenever they do get around to "fixing" my deleted account they will probably just erase any character I'd make, now, while waiting for them to fix it.

I am having the same issue. There could just be a simple warning on the last conformation, that you will loose all of your steam progress and microtransactions, when you link your account. Or maybe, probaly not so simple, unlink steam account button?

3 days?! o my... I do hope it is quicker then that. I'd really love to continue. The only reason i linked my account, was that i could also play on the stand alone client of poe.

You didn't lose anything. You linked the account the wrong way. Sarno posted a guide in this part of the forum somewhere.

You just have to wait for GGG to fix what you broke. Everything is still where it needs to be and you lost no progress.

They are absolutely hammered right now. I am willing to wager that they are over 1500 emails behind at this stage, if not worse, since there have been a ton of issues this league.
