EXCEPTION: PRESENT

I know this bug is affecting multiple players and not just me because the forums have tons of mentions of this error. I've been back and forth with GGG support since the league began because I can't even stay in the game more than 10 seconds before I get the Exception: Present error and crash to desktop. Sometimes I can't even get logged in before the Exception: Present error occurs.

Sometimes when I crash to desktop my resolution gets screwed up and before when I could actually play for 30-45 minutes before I would crash, the next time I logged in the game would no longer be set to run in Fullscreen mode and the resolution would be some weird custom resolution that doesn't fit my screen.

I have tried everything you guys at GGG support have asked of me and the issue still isn't resolved. I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Nvidia support to make double and triple sure that I'm not having any problems with my graphics card (Nvidia 1080 ti Founders Ed.) or my system and their response was simply if I'm not having any problems with any other games, then the problem lies within Path of Exile.

You haven't responded to a single post on the forums that mentions this Exception: Present error. If you're working on it, say you're working on it. If you don't care, say you don't care but say something. This is absolutely ridiculous that I (and others) can't play the game that was super-mega-hyped and that I've spent hundreds of dollars on and invested over 3000 hours of playtime in.

When you start a league like this with so many bugs right out the gate, with the way leagues are set up, people fall behind extremely fast if they can't play with the same ease as others due to crashes, bugs, disconnects, rollbacks, etc. What's the point of playing in a league if you can't race alongside everyone else playing? How can you even say that this has been the smoothest league start ever?

Had the same problem starting yesterday for me, along with some glitching and artifacting in game and windows.

Ran alot of tests for ram, windows etc.

This morning I swapped out my gpu (geforce rtx 2080) to my previous one, geforce gtx 970 and haven't had any problems since. No exception or glitch/artifacting.

In my case, my 2080 is obviously dying. But if you're on a similar GPU as I was, might be something for GGG to look into.

I don't think your GPU is dying if you aren't having problems in any game other than PoE. I've seen other people on the forums mention that they are also using 2080s and having the problems also. I've run various tests on my RAM and GPU RAM and everything comes back with no errors. I'm not having glitching or artifacting, just the Exception errors and CTDs. I'm glad you were able to play again with no problems by switching video cards though.

I did have the problem outside of PoE aswell, so it's definitely something with my GPU.
What I meant to say is that it might be a problem with hardware incompatibilities/bugs etc. Just a thought. Hope it resolves quickly.

Today I was started seeing these errors, and I play poe since 1.0, never had ANY crash, since today. also RIPEd my char in hc today with this error.. fakin annoying shet.. today, got 3 of them. 1 was Exception Map

I have the same problem, with an EVGA 1080 ti, proven in other games and with Furmark.
It is definitely a POE problem in my opinion

Yeah I've run 4 benchmarking apps and they all tell me my rig is amazing. PoE is the only game I have ever had any problems running. Especially this league and Synthesis. Something in the code is broken.

I downloaded the game about 30 minutes ago, and here I am on the forums looking for what the issue is. I load in, I enter Lions Watch, talk to the three people there, and every time I touch the waypoint, the blue thing, it crashes with this error. I have about 10 minutes of playtime, from the beach to there, and spent about 20 minutes so far, and I've re-installed my GTX 1070 drivers, as well as my sound card driver, because, why not. Not a good look. Back to warframe I recon...
