Frostblink and support gems

Hi!
I'm trying to level up with Frostblink as my main skill. After some painful leveling until Act 6 I was starting to get good results, when I realized that most of my support gems don't apply to Frostblink. Added Cold Damage, Hypothermia and Ice Bite, specifically, don't. For some reason, Bonechill still does. Increased Area of Effect and Efficacy seem to work, but they probably react to the AoE and Duration tags.

Is there any reason why damage-based support don't apply to Frostblink? Is this because it's a Travel/Blink gem? My favorite builds were based on Shield Charge, Lightning Warp and Blink Arrow, I'd be sad to see the "movement skill as a main skill" design space go away :(
