I feel so weak while leveling, what am I doing wrong?

I leveling a marauder and I'am sticking to this Guide

For passives I went to Elemental Overload and then Blademaster and my next Goal would be Iron Grip. I feel so weak, it feels like it takes forever to kill yellows. On the new League Mechanic I sometimes barley make it to get one guy with a symbol out, sometimes none. It was fine early levels but began to suck at some point during act 4.

Not sure If I should stick to this. Maybe convert somehow to tectonic strike? It feels really bad.

I know what the guide says about fast attacking weapons, and yes it even links 'the princess' as a levelling weapon.

That's still your problem. You're level 42, using a level 12 weapon.

Molten strike deals 126% of your weapon damage, BUT NONE of your supports have any increased damage on them... Infact 2 of them have 'less damage'.

Your weapon currently does Forty Seven dps. 47. With the molten strike modifier, this is a whopping 60. This is why you arent killing things. Im not even going to look at your tree or the rest of your gear. Get a new weapon.

Ye its alot better, not as good as the arc totem i played in betrayal and kinda squishy but iam actually able to kill stuff again

Molten strike is an odd skill.

It's (or perhaps, it WAS) _extremely_ good for shotgunning bosses down and being super freaking tanky with life on hit.

It was extremely average for leveling up and general map clear (in the context of builds that excel there, anyway).

On top of that, despite it being a patch where almost everything melee got reworked or buff, molten strike apparently got nerfed pretty hard. So all the other melee skills hit a lot harder, the monsters have generally been buffed in terms of life and damage, and molten strike is comparatively weaker.

Perfect storm of badness for making this a real bad time to pick molten strike.

It still seems pretty good; Actually I was lucky and just got an exalted orb. Wonder how to best invest it. Maybe just get a grelwood shank for it?

I would save Exalted orb for later use.
