Can anyone explain the Storm brand explanation

What does Storm brand no longer shotguns mean?

Their damage wont overlap each other. No stack damage from different brands. Only one can damage one target.

I'm still confused. Storm Brand has three kinds of damage. The direct damage from the brand to the mob its attached to, zaps from nearby brands, and then the AoE around the zap. Which of those got nerfed?

It can't be as simple as "only one brand can damage a mob"; if so there'd be no point in having Runebinder, which allows two brands to attach to one mob. My best guess is it means either overlapping AoE no longer works, or maybe that a mob can only be zapped by at most one other nearby brand. In practice that might mean that a mob that used to be taking damage from 5 brands now only takes damage from 1-3.

It means it's trash now.

How is it worse? They got rid of shotgunning but amplified it's damage so the 5 overlapping you had affecting the mobs is nerfed but actually no longer required because it does a lot more damage lol

Each time a Storm Brand activates, the beams from that activation can only hit each enemy once. That has no affect on other brands or other activations.

That doesn't seem like much of a nerf at all.

I think it's going to be better actually. Stormbrand doesn't have an issue clearing mobs but it was a bit weak for single target. This should make it better on bosses.

Yeh can always just get a Inpulsa to make up for clearing if they feel its weak.
