Okay so I died in hardcore league, why is my chest empty?

I understand, I died, I moved to standard league, but is it nessary to remove every item in the chest? How do I recover them? It never mentioned( at least I skipped reading) that everything in the chest will disappear.

Nothing disappeared, items are still in your chest where you left them... in hardcore league. :)

If you want to transfer your items to Standard, make a Hardcore character, put desired items to their inventory, and make them die. Your stash is bound to league, and not a character - which means your Hardcore stash is shared among all Hardcore characters, so if one dies, items remain in Hardcore even though your character goes to Standard.
