How is the new dodging/avoiding attacks mechanic supposed to work with the massive LAG?
so im reading that the new 3.7. patch will introduce dodging and avoiding attacks, i suspect similar to what D3 did when it launched on consoles..however, how is this supposed to work in PoE? WIth a game engine so fundamentally broken and overwhelmed esp. in late and end-game or whenever there more than one player in a party - how are players supposed to dodge attacks in time? how will this work with the constant rubberbanding and lagging/teleporting players back to previous locations due to the lag?

what lag ?

at least on consoles lag/prr fps is a huge issue, it makes the game almost unplayable in late/endgame.

Same as now.

unless they updated their servers.. it would be the same as now.. no changes. "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."
Once you break the cycle of fear no angels or demons can whisper you their sweet nothing words. poe0.2/10. Nuff said. |

" I have never had constant lag playing on my nearest gateway. Ever. Only times I had issues when there were issues clearly mentioned on twitter and on forums. Whenever I see these huge posts of complaint about performance I automatically assume it's clueless people with either bad specs or poor internet connection. I'm sorry but GGG is not responsible for buying you a proper machine or a proper internet connection. I honestly do NOT even ever get Syndicate lag as many people here complain about. "Never argue with an idiot. They will take you down to their level and beat you trough experience."

" You play PC version, there is no lag here, but on lite versions of PS its a huge issue |

I have Rutabaga pc + SSD which is strange in that Betrayal Syndicate encounter isn't lagging for me but all strongboxes that spawn beyond monsters do.
PoE has such a poor engine that I need a > 4 GHz cpu. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

The rubber-banding is caused by running at about 40-50% run speed past mobs that try to block you (they tend to swarm around you as if you were playing L4D) but the collision between you and the server's placement of the mobs is when the rubber-banding gets a bit crazy.
In all the testing I've done recently and comparing latency, GGG's servers are having a very hard time determining what is happening when run speed at those levels take place and you're in synthesis speeding toward the conduit posts to delay the blue creep. In Diablo 3, which I've just finished testing, no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to rubber-band (without the use of phasing through mobs with boots or whirlwind et al). There is some merit to owning and developing your own servers I would imagine... |

funny, queen of the forest is one of my go-to builds, I don't experience these rubber banding issues that you describe, and my ping isn't even good. Queen builds start at 200% MS and scale up to 600% for the record.
