Command of the Pit / arcane surge on hit + totems

Hi,

I've been googling but haven't found anything conclusive. If you're wearing command of the pit / snythesis ring with arcane surge on hit, do your totems get the arcane surge / damage? Or is it pointless if you're never hitting yourself?

totems use your offensive stats. so its you who is supposed to get arcane surge

Totems cast YOUR spells, so you have to have a buff to increase totem damage. Totems are not "your" hit, so you wont have a buff (totemz too), you should damage enemy by another spell to get a buff.
