When memory nexus goes standard...

I think nexus can be an excellent companion to atlas. Just not as it is.....the concept of essentially building your own gg map by collecting mods from atlas maps is great....its the way they have done it that doesnt quite work.

Not sure how to fix it...

Maybe instead of this build a maze and run it, you actually just build a single map. And its all in when you run it.

Memories give a single mod.

you connect nodes on a chart with those memories on a nexus type atlas to random mods that spawn.

You can only have 10 memories, so you need to plan out which mods you can use.....gg ones being further, so cost more memories to get to, and with 10 limit you have to balance.

Have nexus atlas still spawn bosses, that give invasion like encounters within this map.

You can start the run at any point after 1 memory, however all memories are consumed in a single run. The ilvl of the area is the average memory level +5 maxing out at 83 or the highest tier memory. So you dont have to run all t16 maps to get a gg run.

Throw a decay mechanic in there, but slow it down. have decay increase by 100% when you click a decay node/tower, but increase quantity by 20% by doing so.

Thats how i would like to see it hit standard.




This of course does not address the crafting, as I have no idea yet of what i am doing.

No I don't want this added to the core game. One of the few leagues that I am ignoring most of. I do some nexus now and then and do most memories just for the loot and xp. I only pick up fractured items to ID and throw away for the challenge I'm never going to get anything good from synthesising so not bothering.

The memory nexus and memory map are just unfun, needlessly fiddly (trying to replaced a decayed map whilst the memory you are in is decaying means that most of my runs end there or I have to rerun the chain. Decay randomly spawning in the doorway or indoor memories has also ended some runs prematurely as well. After it happened a few times I gave up on trying just no point of putting in the effort for the reward I would get.
What’s the fucking point. They gutted Syndicate and that aspect of the game is actually important, unlocking some very string crafting recipes. You could argue the crafting bench is critical to end game same as was levelling the masters to level 8.

They are going to gut Synthesis where you get a random Cavas/Zana encounter 1:10 maps. Great. The fractured mods are already littered with BSRNG where there are 1k garbage rolls. They’ll make it impossible to grind for just like a Syndicate so maybe in 3 years you’ll get a +3 bow or some shit.

Good luck trying to put your memory maps together with a single block every 10 maps or more.

The value of leagues like Synth and Betrayal are that you see an abundance of it. When that gets nerfed to about a fucking 10th, then who gives af. It’ll only be there as fluff for noobs to go around telling their friends how much better PoE is than D3 because looked at all the stuff (you can’t do).

Right now POE feels like a funfair with massive queues in front of each ride, instead of the coherent gameworld it could be.
I think it doesn't mesh well with the flow of the game to make it into standard. It's already branched off with Delve. More branches would only make PoE increasingly disjointed. Loss of focus can be deadly for a game.

I havent botehred with nexus after my 1st attempt, and i wont botehr no matter how much they buff it or tweak it

They should add it. Most of the complaints about it are that it's not rewarding enough. That's just what this game needs. The problem is that the last few leagues have been too rewarding. Players have gotten used to that. Now that one league adds more lateral growth, players complain that they aren't getting their fix. We'll see what next week brings.

I think what really is wrong with it, is that there's no progression. You don't "get better" at it.

No, dont't do it. This game is going down, slowly.
Actually, an average player cannot focus on current league, too many craft recipes are behind choosen leagues and of course, RNG. It's frustrating, simply. One more league ( Synt is weak, in my opinion, it's no deserve for this ) - big NO.
