[Steam] Synthesis League - Lag spikes (Texas & DC)

If i stand still my latency is flat. As soon as I click the next node in delve or hit a big group of monsters in a map my latency launches into outer space and back down and up and down etc.

Delve is the worst so far and betrayal fights (TRANSPORT TOO) are also bad. This never happened last league and this is unplayable and has caused me repeated deaths. I run in an isolated gaming VM on a network by myself with no other apps running.

I love this game but I'm coming close to taking a vacation from the frustration this is causing me. I've rebooted laptop and reset my modem (cable connected) and checked all my cable connections, watched process explorer.. nothing. WinMTR also looks completely normal. Just tried connecting to DC instead and had to exit game mid delve cause I almost died to rubber banding into the darkness. Ran file check on steam and packcheck.exe - all is fine. Reduced all my settings down to bare minimum in graphics and turned mode to predictive.. only let's me play client side while the server is crapping on me in reality. Deleted minimap cache in Documents.. getting desperate now.

3/19 update: Reinstalled the game. Removed item filter. Ran TCPOptimizer and set all settings to "Optimized" - This just made my flat latency have constant ripples instead of being flat. Lag spikes still occur. Updated graphics adapter. Ran windows update. Turned off AutoHotKey. Nothing. I still can't do anything but run low density maps.

Here is a few screenshots of how my game is operating right now after a delve that was somewhat successful until I got to the end node and disconnected just before I got credit for the run:

3/18 Edit: My first map of the day today, lag spike after engaging a syndicate transport and died in fast forward mode when my client caught up. Picture added to IMGUR album above.

I made an example video. This is very mild compared to some of the 5-10 second lockups I get with more mobs on the screen with disconnections.
I am getting the exact same issues (non steam, us east).
windows 10 pro (64bit)
amd 6300 processor
24 gigs installed memory
4 gig amd video
20 gig virtual memory
os on 75 gig ssd
other hd is a 300 gig ssd

running game on bare minimum settings, doesn't help.

yet it don't matter if it is 5 mobs or 30. when I attack everything goes blurry and lags like hell till either I am dead or my minions or the mobs. when I load into a zone takes unusually long times then when I do finish loading everything is in fast forward for about 3 secs. been playing off and on since POE's release. this is just ridiculous.

I have literally the exact same issue, and I too am a summoner.

I've tried all kinds of things, from --nopreoload and --noasync, completely turning down settings, switching from Steam to standalone, reinstalling PoE completely, nothing has helped or changed it.

I've also tried several different minions and they all do it, it seems to be related to AOE or the amount of mobs that are hit at once, but isn't that kind of the point of the game?
I've gotten my latency issues smoothed out nicely. I see the same spikes occurring, but it's not affecting me as drastically as it was and I did these things in this order when it got fixed:

1) Anti-aliasing: off
Dynamic resolution: off
character select screen
Networking mode: predictive
Exit game

2) Windows 10- Type "windows update" in the search bar
Check for updates, let them install, let your computer reboot
I got some kind of "welcome to the _FALL_ update message making me think my computer hasn't been updating properly.

Before I did these two things I downloaded TCP Optimizer 4
https://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php and it's possible this helped too. You run this tool as administrator and select the radio box labeled "Optimal" on the right side. Reboot to set the new settings.

Now, I still see the latency spikes right when I cast my AoE spells... it just doesn't affect me now like it did before. Might as well hire me in as a technical support agent seeing how much help you guys need.. just saying.

TYVM this alone made it playable for me. Like you I still get spikes but much more smooth than before. I still feel like I have to run my rig in early year 2000 mode though. Which shouldn't have to happen in the first place.
The horrid lag spikes in wash dc and texas make the game unplayable. I haven't even made it to maps yet because of the constant never ending everlasting eternal DISCONNECTION.

If GGG could fix this it would be great but I have completely given up on this league and deleted my character. Back in standard to find the lag spikes there as well.

Congratulations GGG you have finally made the game unplayable. I notice your share has been dropping badly on Steam. Only 14K players this morning as compared to 58K just a couple of weeks ago.

Oh well, If GGG doesn't care why should I?
