Unable to enter elder portal

After death in the last phase of elder, he freed himself from shaper binding and run towards my corpse. Then after respawning I couldnt enter the elder portal.

I confirmed that after entering the last portal of the map, the elder area becomes unaccessible. So this means basically that I can only go with 5 portals into elder. :/
