Graphics Card really not getting along with 3.6

I have a GTX 1050 Ti with driver version 419.35 and it really isn't playing well with PoE. There have been a couple times where my video just completely cuts off and my monitors no longer receive signal from the card. I have to restart my computer to fix it. I've been hit with the texture error multiple times, crashes happen more often while zoning into a new area.

When the game crashes and gives me an error I feel it's a PoE issue. When my card just cuts out I'm not so sure. I've been thinking about coming back to PoE for a couple weeks now and it's super sad to be in this crashfest.

Anything I can do? Or is it something that'll have to be worked out on the dev/NVIDIA side of things?

You aren't alone. I just updated to 419.35 today (GTX 980Ti) thanks to numerous complete lockups requiring sys reboot on 419.17.

It actually seemed worse after that - I made it 5 whole seconds into Control Block, launched one Soulrend and that familiar "eee-ooo-errr" cascading dialup modem from the 90s sound as the whole PC locked.

Currently reinstalling the whole client, though I have little hope that fixes anything.

I have had a total of zero hard crashes like this going back years with PoE. Not even a single CTD in the last 3 leagues. This is a whole other level of suck that I hope someone can figure out, cause I certainly don't have the time nor the patience.
Grabbed a capture this time. Also, awk that there's a folder called build slave D:

folder called build slave

It is the production environment/server from GGG in their HQ to build the content pack file and updates.

Anyway.

@ Naakta234 In your case, I would have the Windows Event Viewer open to exclude any other problem (eg that a driver or windows file pops up in the crash report).

Especially to diagnose the video signal cut out/blank. If the Event Viewer can tell you if an nvidia file/dll caused the cut-out/blank. Or if the card is actually defective. If you play other triple A Games or let the PC run, does the video signal also go blank intermittently/at random? For this case you could also have a look through the Windows Reliability History and check for apps causing problems: https://www.howtogeek.com/222730/how-to-find-out-why-your-windows-pc-crashed-or-froze/

Having exact same issues ever since synthesis came out. Eventually it locks up both monitors, makes that weird noise and I have to restart the computer, this often even happens upon log in. Played every single league before this just fine and now it's completely unplayable. RIP PoE.

As mentioned above, please use the Event Viewer to check the crash log. If POE does crash your PC, then the event log would list the POE.exe (among other details) as a cause.

I ran it and it says that Path of Exile stopped working and also a hardware error at the same time. Where do I go from here? Thanks for replying :)
Post a screenshot(s) (via imgur) and or a copy of the crash report text via pastebin.com here in this thread/forum post.

And send this thread plus your report off to support at grindinggear.com as well.

POE.exe has an internal crash log report, that gets send to GGG HQ (which they do look into, thus you will read in patch notes "Fixed a client crash"). I am not sure, if your machine hangs up at the same time, that POE.exe can not send off that crash report log.

I (and probably others) would also like to know what the detailed crash report says, eg hardware error.

While looking through the logs, I saw one of the crashes was prefaced by a resource exhaustion warning talking about virtual memory. I gave permission to use 4000 MB more virtual memory and for 2 days now (~7 hours of gameplay) I haven't gotten any crashes.

The common theme among the rest of the crashes was PoE stopped working or dwm/Desktop Window Manager stopped working. I don't understand enough to know why more virtual memory fixed these crashes, but it may work for others!
