Fix For Latency Spikes And Freezes 3.6.0

So I've run into the problem where since last patch I've been getting such frequent latency issues and freezes that the game was unplayable. I spent a while searching for fixes and nothing so I tried to do it myself and got it. This is only just 1 possible fix that only applies to steam users.

The cause? After hours of running tests I noticed steam was only launching the 32bit client.
I've tried making a shortcut to the 64bit exe and setting it to run as admin and yet steam will swap over to the 32bit client. Checked the production_config file to make sure everything was fine, etc.

Well the fix was easy, steam is launching PathOfExileSteam.exe instead of PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe
Go to your PoE directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile)
Then just rename them, swap their names and there you go. Steam launches PathOfExileSteam.exe which is actually your re-named 64bit client.

Since then no latency issues and I can play the game again. Why are the 32bit and 64bit clients affecting latency? Absolutely no idea and I hope this is checked by staff and hopefully patched.

FYI: This is an edge case on the user side.

I can not confirm this. If I open Steam and press the play button for Path of Exile and POE is running, Windows Task Manager tells me that "PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe" is running.

btw Windows 10 64bit clean install (since Dec 2017) with W10 installation media from Microsoft https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

What does this mean though? I did not switch it but it shows that I am running the .exe that should be 32-bit but in reality is 64-bit.
