Avg DPS by Level?

Does anyone have a chart, by character level and class, showing what your characters DPS should be for single target and AoE attacks?

My level 66 LA Ranger's DPS feels awfully low to me and I have to Kite like a pro to stay alive. I don't know if I've made bad choices in gear, sockets/links, or something else but I am definitely not feeling the power.

the gear is REALLY bad. ideally by 66 you should have 75 all resist and a much better thicket bow. If you have to just trade for better gear. I found a chest with 80 health and 2 resists over 30 for an alch. pay about 5 alchs and your character will be so much stronger.

I am a 54 Shadow with roughly 1k dps using dual strike. I too feel weak in Act 2 Cruel. I'll be curious to see what other's say here.

Thanks timtwins. I keep trying to craft a thicket bow, but none of them are getting Phys DMG % and attack speed which I *think* are the stats I need. But I could be totally wrong.

Yeah I agree your gear needs a lot of work.
I am in act 2 of Merciless however, even with my gear I am still getting one-two shot killed.
I am very frustrated at level 64 that hours of building up xp can get erased in a matter of a couple deaths.
Couple that with the reward for the struggle is a bit of a bad motivator to jump in.

In Act 2 merc level difficulty I am able to do decent damage however I am still having to kite most mobs at this point. It seems that you have to push through to the end of act 2 somehow to get the next bow for increase in damage.

Since they redid the skill points and I reassigned mine, there was a change in my characters mana regen and my last build is really lacking on the mana regen now, which is extremely frustrating...
Now if I chose to keep playing, I need to get some skill points back and adjust my passives to get more mana and regen to counter whatever they changed.

That being said, I think have 1200+ dps and 43% evade, the only parts of this game my ranger gets raped on is by the mobs that flicker.

From my experience the flicker mobs are OVER POWERED and need to be toned down a lot. I should never have gone in the spider dungeon with 75% xp into level 64.


collect some new gear! You will greatly enjoy the new power.
My evasion is around 7-8000 with frenzy charges, that might be low for level 64.

im 57 shadow Dual Strike and i do 4k DPS :D and i still need better gear....(plus phys ring with res all and life and better claws)

I'm a Level 66 Bow Duelist, my LA does about 820 damage with 5 frenzy charges. Before the buff to the Duelist I was only doing 600 though. Frenzy is great for boosting up your DPS and as a single target skill, does about 1.8K. I think that's really low but it's good enough to keep on farming Docks. I ran a map as well, it was a little harder but still doable.

But your gear is really bad, that's one thing I'm sure of.

PS. Oh and if you want an upgrade on your chest piece, I have two great ones. I would sell it to you at a slightly lower price if you want.

-When i saw the bow i skipped the other items. You want 1.40 + att speed bow, triple ele dmg.

-I would advice you to get prismatic rings with life and atleast 1 offencive stat.

-Amulet should be the same as rings(may be widout resists, ideally with chaos rezz).

-Boots are very easy to find cheep with good stats/rezz(you should look getting the chaos rezz on boots because in my experiance you can get it cheapest there).

-Gloves idealy you want att speed + ele dmg and life.

-Your helm should have deacent evasion life 2 rezz.

-Chest you need 5 link 80+ life 3ple rezz 800+ evasion(ideally with chaos rezz and dex).

-Quiver should be ballanced having offencive and deffencive stats.

-And you want belt with life ele dmg and atleast 1 big rezz.

I must say, I rather like your build actually. I also think your gear can obviously be improved, but you know that.

I have a few questions.

Do you use your decoy totem?

Have you considered using temporal chains? Actually, I am terribly partial to this curse on ranged characters, so I think it is a mistake to not use it.

Those two things will fix up your *having to kite like a pro* problem.

what is your HP? did you have to sacrifice survivability for that dps? I have roughly 2200 hp and 250 es.
