Proximity Shield on Uber Elder?

Does it block shaper orbs and all elder projectiles? This would mean I only have to dodge shaper beam and shaper slam. From spectre btw.

Well I haven´t tested it myself but according to these sources it should block projectiles (shaper´s included).

It is definitely viable for my build. Linked my spectre with increased duration and it had around 70% up-time for the shield. My build relies heavily on energy shield recharge without occultist ascendancy so as long as I make sure to focus down uber elder squids I can negate huge portions of the damage from both bosses. While the shield is down I can just run around for a couple seconds and wait for it to go back up to attack. I do have about 10k es so getting one shot by projectiles is not an issue for me so if the shield goes down while projectiles are coming I'm ok as long as I start evading pretty quickly.

I believe most builds will find this shield is garbage and not worth investing in because there are still other forms of damage from the bosses. However, if 2+ spectres with shields can achieve a 100% uptime and have some form of defenses so they aren't dying themselves, this could be a niche 4 link defensive setup if an uber elder farmer has extra slots. I personally found it to be a game changer and I went from dying out of maps for 4 shaper sets to winning on my 6th portal in one shaper set. This is my first ever uber elder kill and my build is actually incredibly weak vs this encounter as it exploits all of my build's weaknesses, but I am hoping to kill uber elder again and learn mechanics better and not need the shield eventually. I have about 1k energy shield regen with consecrated ground (situational), 0 leech, 0 healing from flasks, and 0 sources of recovery like lgoh or minion leech other than energy shield recharge without occultist/scion. I have a minion build with zombie/skeleton/spectre/AG which makes targeting a serious issue in this fight. I have 0 additional cold damage mitigation other than 75% max res +3% max res situationally. |

It´s interesting.
Using ball lightning might help with targeting (and proccing curses, EE,...). |
