How do you use things like Essence of Horror to get what you want?

Say I have a godly helmet already, and i want to add the 30% elemental damage, will the essence of hate just randomize everything and destroy the helmet or would the stats be saved and the effect just get added?

Dang so if you wanted a perfect god roll style helmet you'd need to keep using it until you got both of what you wanted.. on an elder helmet.. and both rolls..

People buy usually dozens of those horrors to get good rolls since rerolls everything except enchantment and quality. All the stats below enchantment roll random besides guaranteed elemental dam mod

it is hard but still possible..... gl learning is a painful process ... knowledge is the most deadly weapon.
