What happened to the old masters?

I do not have the time to play this league, but I am really curious to what happened to the old masters? And I've searched high and low on reddit, youtube, forum etc and couldn't find the answer to this.

Well, they disappeared and we don't know why.
But they're working for the immortal syndicate now apparently.

Apparently they were two face assholes.

Finally, we can take revenge for all the times that Haku and the others have sent our poor, hapless characters into the meatgrinder! ("Haku: the Master voted most likely to kill our characters." I remember some early characters who absolutely dreaded those missions.)

On the other hand, the Masters now have their chance to take revenge for all those missions which our character blew off/abandoned. ("Who cares if Vorici wants someone killed, or Elreon wants a relic protected? Just get the their inventories changed and their discounted currency items re-newed!")

You can meet them free roaming in nearly any locations now..
They are free now. Well.. sorta ;)

Also, it sounds like a few of the voice actors either have been changed, or they are doing the voices differently. :(
