lvl 70 - dying too fast - help please!

Hey guys,
Here's my current build, that translates to 1890 hp, 2340 Armor and 75% res once I pop a couple of charges. 1801 dps on Glacial Hammer and 1007 on Ground Slam (both linked to 5-6% life leech). But I die too damn fast... in groups I'm fine but solo, I can barely do docks without dying, and that's if I'm lucky. I see a lot of builds going up to get some of the Fitness, Body and Sould and the other energy shield blobs. Is there something I've done entirely wrong? That is some low hp... i'm lvl 51 and I have the same hp... ur gear need an upgrade...

Yes, your health pool is inadequate for merciless even as a ranged character. Further more you are an BM specced one. The only solution is getting more Health from items. Yes, it may decrease your dps, but you wont gain any exp if you keep on dying. Another way is respecing out of Blood Magic and using mana for the time being until you acquire better gears. From experience, getting armor nodes isn't really passive point effective. If i were you, i'd respec them into getting more health nodes. Another thing is those nodes which gives %Hp regen isn't really useful for a low health pool character. Finally every marauder should get the Elemental Adaptation node.

Thanks, but I have most of the health nodes around where I went it seems. Unless I went a route completely wrong I can't see where else to get more.

Near the shadow start you spent nearly 15 points for 3x8% life and some pretty bad 2h damage nodes. Also the 6 resist nodes near diamond skin should in no way be needed if you have decent gear. I'd also take some points out of some of the 2h damage and armor nodes. I came up with

It also gets you 3 points away from iron reflexes. However this will take a LOAD of respec points so I don't know if its worth it to even respec over rerolling. You should also look into some gear upgrades though at 51 with alot less points spent my maurauder has 2.3k hp. Aim for life/resists >>>>>>> any damage mods. |

Ok here is the biggest problem I see: you are taking a path toward DPS nodes, not HP. If you cannot survive several hits in a zone, your DPS will not matter (unless you want to really go glass cannon, but then marauder is a bad choice)
I will therefore assume that you want a reasonable tanky character, because that is what marauder excels at (whereas a witch or ranger does not, technically, at least relative to their starting position on the skilldrasil) Things to consider: - The 6 nodes you used next to diamond skin to get +30 fire, lightning, cold are completely wasted. You should be able to get reasonable resistances (at least 30-40) in merciless through gear alone (and a couple +%all res passives, like diamond skin, that cost 1 skill point not 6) - The blood magic keystone is useless and extremely dangerous if you do not have the health pool to sustain it (3k at least) I would spec out of blood magic immediately and move back when you have effectively doubled your total HP (or use a ton of regrets now) - The 3 damage nodes in the duelist tree that you took are quite inefficient, regret them immediately for HP - Also, I think the 30% reduced damage from critical hits in the marauder base is much stronger (especially late game) than 30% increased recovery from flasks. Ideally in merciless you'll want seething sacred life flasks, which only reach about 380 HP regained instantly once they are 20% quality, and 30% of that is nothing compared to mitigating 30% of a critical strike (which might otherwise kill you before you can pot, ask cybrix) - While I do see the value in the Smashing Blows mace node next to the two 12% life nodes, the bloodless node is rather useless for PvE, as only a few rare mobs leech life (it is basically never a threat) - The 6% damage node take after Butchery is also a waste, because its 6% This is what I would do to change your skill tree if I (or hopefully you) had 42 regret orbs/respec points available:

i hear hp nodes are good you should get some of those
also why do u get 8% maces up top but dont bother getting the 18% |

Seems all logical not enough hp to sustain bloodmagic.
So bloodmagic becomes a liability instead of an asset I looked at a few of Kripps you tube tutorials What I picked up is you dont need damage passive the gems and equipment provide enough damage. Survivability is far more important. This might not be completely true but its something to contemplate. |

The only offensive node i have is Berserking (15% atk speed) i did around 2.5ish heavy strike and 1.2ish GS with out any damage node. ( juts look for Karui mace with 300+ max damage and you will be fine. your HP and armor is a really low for lv 70. I got 3.6K hp and 9.6k armor and 80% resist (except chaos, -41% ><) atm and the mob can still take me done to half sometime T_T I HATE de-synced-*-. I do recommend taking Iron reflect and using Grace w/ Blood magic. (my grace lv 16 and it only cost me 140ish hp to use, altho i have reduce mana on it. after u got iron reflect, there is really nice group of HP node u can take. here is my end game plan (it will take a WHILE lol)

I did go for damage over HP when I first started playing (this was my first character)! I think I'll probably just have to reroll, don't think I want to spend too much orb of regret on fixing him plus I dont have 40ish orbs. Thanks a lot for the talent trees! Rerolling is a bit of a pain but it's going to be a lot more fun once I stop dying! :) |
