General Discussion - Brands and Totems - Forum - Path of Exile

God i hope not, i want them to be able to leech and contribute kills/effects to my character. We will have to see the gem tags and then test in-game if it has a "brand" tag to see what that imply's. GGG has been pretty clear in posts over in reddit that Brands are just an ongoing spell, like Firestorm or Orb of Storms, and not a seperate 'actor' like totems, traps or minions. So you can leech off them, damage reflects to you, and ancestral bond will prevent them from dealing damage. There's a really important brand node - +1 brands attached to 1 enemy, which literally doubles your single target damage. But that node also gives minus 1 to max number of totems. Also obviously you can't take the +1 totems node from the passive tree, because you wouldn't do any damage with brands with it. It would be pretty hard to make both brands and totems work. Basically what I was thinking about totems and brands hybrid. Seems like one could scale both easily. 3 totems and 4 additional brands sounds pretty good to me.
