Quicksilver Flask 3x or other method for reliable, fast clears?

I'm new to the game but soon learned the need to cover large swaths of ground as quickly as possible.

At my level, I found I don't really need more than one health and mana potion, so I've been carrying 3x Quicksilver potions which lets me run most of the time.

What other methods of quick transport should I be looking into?

I suspect that at some point, I will need more health and mana pots, so I will have to drop the quicksilver pots.

Later in the game you will be killing fast enough that a single quicksilver will be enough to fully sustain your movement needs. At your level you should not worry too much about being optimal. The 1-70 process is really just fluff so you can get to the meat and potatoes of the game.

You should never be using more than 1 QS flask for movement past level 70.
Alternatively you can just skip the flask and use shieldcharge.

you shouldnt need a manapot on 95% of builds

also personally i rarely use a quicksilver come mapping time, youll have other flasks there like taste of hate, lions roar etc, and one maybe 2 instant health pots

What I observe on the lower acts is that I have to track back over ground I've already covered, so there are no mosters to kill, which is why I need more flasks. I suppose if you know the layout you won't have to track back like that.
You're right that at some point you'll need more slots for potions, but not really for health or mana.

Usually you just need 1 health potion for urgent situations, and you manage your health and mana pools through other mechanics such as leech (the most popular solution), regen, etc.

The other flask slots are precious and should be used for unique flasks that give you a big DPS boost in moments during boss fights when you can keep hitting the boss for more than just one second. You can use them for clearing packs too if you use them wisely.

Such flasks depend on your build but the famous ones are Taste of Hate, The Wise Oak, Lion's Roar, Atziri's Promise, some utility ones like Diamond and Silver flasks, etc.

As for fast movement, Quicksilver is one option, but it does use up one flask slot. Alternatively you can look into movement skills that fit your build. For attack builds, leap slam or whirling blades. For spell builds, Flame Dash or Lightning Warp. Any of those will need some amount of linking / investment to turn them into fast movevement skills.

You can also use some specific classes / ascendancies that naturally move fast like Raider.

Much depends on your build. If you have fast attack speed character it is better to use movement skill like shield charge, whirling blades or leap slam.

In case you're for example spellcaster with wand or just wander it is better to keep one quicksilver flask(As guys before said you won't need more than 1 after lvl 70 or so)

You can also use movement spells also, but they are not as good as attacks. (Flame dash, lighting warp etc.)

For bow users it is good to have good movement speed and have Blink arrow in case you need to pass past obstacle or your flask are not up for whatever reason.

In case you want more movement speed from flask you can aim for "%movement speed during flask effect" on flasks(not only quicksilver, others can have it too... but it is nice to have on quicksilver too cuz it stacks with base effect)

Thanks. I have flame dash, but when I've tried it I move about five feet. I will google to find the links it needs.

Right click on the Flame Dash icon in your toolbar and select "Always attack without moving". This will allow you to dash farther with it.
ill be 2 quicksilver flask at league start myself. as others as said when you get movement abilities with faster usage of it/more uptime on movement spells, then 1 quicksilver or not even needing quicksilvers is usually the right way to go.
Some good substitutes are:

- Phase Run linked with Increased Duration.
- Smoke Mine linked with Increased Duration.
- Shield Charge linked with Faster Attacks.
- Lightning Warp linked with Faster Casting, Less Duration, and Swift Affliction.

Whirling Blade and Leap Slam will help to a degree. Sometimes when it's late in the game if you get 30% speed on your boots and enough speed buffs you won't really need anything to roam around the maps.
