Leap Slam vs Consecrated Path for movement

I have a staff using character (no AS on the staff) and I'm considering to replace Flame Dash as a movement skill because of the cooldown and to proc fortify. I can't weapon swap because I have HoAg in the staff.

My impression without having tested Consecrated Path was that it did something very similar to Leap Slam, but had a bigger AoE, making it easier to proc fortify.

What is the difference, is there a difference in AS / movement speed, how is the difference in speed to FD? I might have minor increases to AS from Spiritual Command.

Consecrated Path will only teleport the character if there is an enemy nearby to target. Otherwise it just does a melee attack. It works more like Flicker Strike than like Leap Slam in this regard. So you can't really use it for map traversal (although it works for proccing fortify, I guess).

I tried to make out the difference from videos, but I guess the players never used it without enemies in range.

And I don't have a gem slot just to proc Fortify, so Leap Slam will have to do. I considered going with The Coming Calamity, but I can't get a significant amount of ES on a shield cheaply either, nor afford a 6L, so there's no point in switching away from a staff.

Luckily I'm already running Hatred, so I won't have a problem with dex for Faster Attacks at least.

Thanks for the help.
