Lore explained?

Hey, is there a thread somewhere explaining the whole lore? I've been playing for like 2 weeks by now and barely know what is going on lol

Great game though!

I've been playing for 5 years and barely know what's happening

It's pretty bare bones tbh.
I think the story explains quite a bit. If you care about historic figures and events, look for lore to read in the areas.
i know the lore - innoce is our father oriath is our mother and with the daughter is our witce

here you go.

PoE story telling resembles Dark Souls, most of it is on items etc.

In this link, some guy collected it all in a massive PDF file, and the lore is surprisingly good TBH. Prepare for a long read though.

As for league-introduced concepts like Beyond entities and Harbingers, I find it best not to think too hard about them, although the Ezomyte First Ones introduced with Talisman are casually mentioned by some of Utula's lore in the Reliquary in Act 5, noting that the Karui 'gods' were known to clash with them...

The older leagues in particular sometimes don't even have any lore attched to them afaik (tempest, onslaught and nemesis for example).

Others have quite a lot of (mostly hidden) lore, warbands for example. Weylam Roth even mentions that he was the leader of the Brinerot warband for a long time before he was overthrown by his sister, Lussi "Rotmother" Roth.

There are also some connections between different leagues, breach for example is a continuation from beyond, lore-wise. In breaches the beyond dimension temporarily overwrites reality in a small area, allowing you to fight it's natives directly, whereas in beyond they were called to this world through portals.

There also was a slight connection between talisman and bestiary. In both cases the great ones were heavily involved. Talisman, or rather the main talisman boss, Rigwald was more or less what would happen if you mess up a pact with the great ones. He got possessed by The Greatwolf, greatly increasing his combat abilities at the cost of his sanity AND control over his body. Interesting fact: we have yet to see the great ones directly. They never appeared in the game in their original forms, only through a human (rigwald) or through their avatars (the spirit beasts).
Also, since the first ones were never sealed by the beast, they probably are much stronger than the wraeclastian gods were right after their release from the beast. Except for probably Hinekora, which I would rank as one of, if not THE strongest of the deities of the PoE universe.

The league mechanics (especially the new ones) have quite a lot of lore in them, sometimes even referencing or being referenced by NPCs in the main story. There truly is a LOT of lore you can discover if you are willing to do that.
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.
