Avatar of Fire + Combustion

Hey.

So, I have a question about the interaction between Avatar of Fire and the Combustion support gem. Normally, it wouldn't make sense, to attach Combustion to something like Orb of Storms or Ball Lightning, because Combustion's ignite chance still follows basic ignite rules, aka the spell has to do fire damage.

However, with Avatar of Fire, that should work, correct? Would I get the chance to ignite and the -% fire resistance debuff from Combustion, if I link it to Orb of Storms, while I have Avatar of Fire? What about just some flat fire damage to spells without Avatar of Fire, would that be enough?


I am playing a Nebuloch Jugg loosely based on this guide, but I want to ditch the blasphemy for a curse on hit (with an offensive curse), so I can fit in an Anger or 2 Heralds or something, not sure yet.

Unfortunately it cannot go to a Herald of Purity or Warchief Totem, since minions don't trigger curse on hit. So I am thinking about adding Orb of Storms, and adding Combustion to that as well seems just fitting.

Feel free to suggest better setups, I guess :)

Yeah, all you need in this case is to ignite is some base fire damage and some chance to ignite. Avatar of Fire would work but all you need is some base fire damage added from as small a source as an abyss jewel.

ya all it has to do is some fire damage, doesn't matter how much, and it can ignite and trigger combustion's -fire res.

so either avatar of fire or some added fire damage to spells will work
