How did they make money with Bots?

i have not so much gamer knowledge so i have to ask the community:

Bots running in sarn......
someone wrote if we would pay 5bucks to stop the botters they would pay it for their bottinbizz cause a bot makes 5 bucks in an hour!???

but how does it work??

they cannot do bosses

are they so complex programmed that they reach sarn with no player interaction or what?

there is nothing worthful to find in this area

or is it enough for a bot to find a jack in the box?

sounds weird to me

can someone explain their behaviour?

They basicly farm chaos till is FLOOD the market and by that makin the exalt skyrocket cuz ggg limiting the chaos stack to 10. :)

And by that they sell their exalt very pricey on rmt sites

Bots just run easy story areas that can yield an exalted orb.
So it's 35+
Now have a Level 40 char with standard 4 links and have them run a "good" area with some easy clear skill like TS and done. The bots run, pick up alchs, chaos, jewellers, exalts, mirrors and stash that away. Rinse and repeat.
That stuff gets sold via RMT sites.

Same has been done since diablo or even earlier like ultima online.
