Poison duration and increased skill effect duration
Poison duration should be increased by nodes like exceptional performance and potency of will, right? I'm confusec because google and PoB are giving me opposite answers.
Google says poison duration will be increased, even if applied by a skill that doesn't have the duration tag because poison in itself has a duration. But when I try to check my poison duration in PoB it's only getting longer from the few sources of "increased poison duration". (like prolonged pain and fatal toxins) I always thought "skill effect duration" was the most global form, increasing the duration of all effects, followed by "ailment duration" only increasing the duration of things like bleed, ignite, shock and then the most specific being "poison duration" obviously only applying to poison. Is this wrong? :/ Last bumped on Sep 19, 2018, 2:00:58 PM

Just looking at some nodes in PoB and apparently resolute technique would lower my poison dps... How is this possible when I don't have Perfect Agony? Or do ailments come with a default multiplier on crits? :S

I think the only poison that is modified by generic increased duration nodes on the tree and the increased duration support gem is Viper Strike's poison.

PoB is right. Increased skill effect duration (PoW) doesn´t affect poison ailment.
It was changed some patches ago. " The damage multiplier for ailments from critical strikes exists independently from the critical strike multiplier used for hits. A character's base damage multiplier for ailments from critical strikes is 150%. There currently exist no modifiers to this stat. However, the Perfect Agony keystone applies a percentage of modifiers to critical strike multiplier to the damage multiplier for ailments from critical strikes. |
