Does RF with Increased burning damage affect you as well?

As in RF burns your hp faster.

It only affects the RF damage, but not character in any way.

No. Burning damage only increases the damage it deals to monsters.

Though I think I read somewhere that it used to also increase self damage in the past, but that has been changed at some point.
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.
No. Burning should not effect the degenaration of your hp, but only the damage dealt to enemies.
"
The following stats apply to the damage Righteous Fire deals to enemies: Fire damage, burning damage, damage over time, area damage and generic "increased damage" or "more damage". These stats do not apply to the self-inflicted damage from Righteous Fire.

Edit: Not so sure after reading the buring section.
The degenaration is effected by damage taken stats (see RF wiki entry).
And burning is such a stat.
"
However since burning damage itself is not an ailment, this support can be used to increase the damage of burning damage for skills that deal burns without igniting, such as Scorching Ray, Righteous Fire, and Searing Bond.

Edit2: After some additional research, I will stick with my initial no. Buring is missing the key words "damage taken". To affect the degenarion there should be description saying "damage taken from burning".

Testing shouldn't be too hard.

The damage RF deals to you is only affected by your maximum life and ES. There is no modifier that changes this damage - not even something like Ancestral Bond. This is similar to items like Heartbound Loop or Eye of Innocence.

You can only affect the damage you take from the DoT - with things like fire resistance, Arakaali pantheon power, etc. (Or, conversely, by getting Shocked!)

Does this include or exclude this statement from the wiki. I am really confused about how this fits with your answer.

To sustain the degeneration damage Fire Resistance and Life Regeneration are needed. Depending on the player's resistance, less regeneration is needed to break even. The base formula is:

burnDegen = (life*burnLife + ES*BurnES) * (1 - fireRes) * (1 + dmgTaken)

where life, ES and fireRes is the characters maximum life, maximum energy shield and fire resistance. burnLife and burnES is the percent of life and energy shield that Righteous fire burns for and dmgTaken is the sum of all Damage taken stats, for example Vulnerability, Fragile Bloom, Leo's #% reduced Damage taken from Damage Over Time craft, or the Assassin's Toxic Delivery node which grants 10% reduced Damage taken from Damage Over Time.

That doesn't contradict anything Abdiel wrote. In fact, refer to this part of what he wrote:

Thanks for clarification!

Anything that affects the amount of Fire Damage over Time that you take will also affect the damage you take from your own Righteous Fire.

I do not know a full list of all such modifiers off the top of my head, and listing them all was not the purpose of my post. I was just giving a few examples.

Vulnerability only affects Physical damage taken; it will have no effect on RF. (Maybe the author was thinking of Despair?) All the other modifiers you quoted do apply.
