Static Strike, CoC, and other Shenanigans
Lady and Gentlemen
I bring you the new Cast on Crit build, resurrected from its long slumber! - Have one Static Strike hooked up to CoC + Spell - Have another Static Strike built for damage - Attack with CoC Static Strike to get buff once - Continue attacking with Static Strike built for damage, so long as you keep the buff up, the beams can trigger CoC (based on your crit chance). I am uncertain whether it is each pulse that rolls a crit or each beam rolls its own crit. Regardless, as long as you maintain the buff, the original attack (from the CoC Static Strike) is used and can proc CoC while also dealing good damage with the second Static Strike. Other Shenanigans - Static Strike beams count as melee hits, this allows it to proc CoMK, CoC, and various ascendancy perks - Static Strike beams snapshot the damage from the initial hit. As such, you can buff the beam damage with a Ruthless hit, Punishment buff, Phase Run buff, Marauder Chieftain Ngamahu, Flame's Advance (if you can time it right) 70% added phys to fire damage buff, and more I know I'm forgetting. They will ALL stack on the one hit, and go into the beams' damage with all their effects (easily tested with Ruthless hits, as the 0.8 sec stun will show a swirly above monsters heads) Updates 9/8 - Using two Static Strikes, the first with bleed support and the second with bloodlust, you are still able to bleed enemies with the beams, and get the extra damage on the second - As far as I can tell (a little hard because of damage ranges) Damage on Full Life support is snapshotted as well.
