[QoL] Map Tab - Highlight favorite maps

Hi Tencent/GGG

I would like to propose a small QoL improvement for the map tab.
I'm not sure if this is true for many players but for me is always the same story.

I'm a casual player, and for quite some time due to real life commitments I cannot spend a lot of time in game. Due to that I dont run many maps and not as many times as I would like too, but there are maps I like, layouts i like in each tier. But as there are so many of them its hard for me to remember each one i liked in each tier.

So my proposal would be to add an option to somehow mark the maps we like. for example by double click or whatever, this would for example add a little star in the corner or make the background of the map shine, to indicate our choice.

This should help players like me remember which maps they liked while progressing though the atlas to further down the line shape the map of our choice (which would most likely be one of the favorites from each tier).

Not sure if this could be implemented but it would be a very welcoming addition.

Cheers

just today i explained the map system to a gamer and he was quite astonished i remember all those maps.

well, i don't. and because ggg likes to swap bosses all the time the preference changes every league and it would be nice to make at least notes for maps. or, as you suggsted, mark them as favourites

yeah some sort of note system would work too.
To be honest any kind of system to mark the maps in game as favorites would be a nice addition

I like the ideas in this thread.

As a tangential suggestion, I typically run multiple of the same maps in a row. I think that this is very common. This is because it's a map I like, that is at the right level for my character at the time. Also, being more familiar with the map makes it slightly less dangerous. When I put a map away that I just found it changes the "saved map tab position" to the map I just put away. What would be far more convenient is to keep the "saved map tab position" at the last map removed position. Also, I have two map tabs. Each map tab should have its own "saved map tab position".

thanks.

well its an option too, but its more for people who run a lot of maps and, as you said, run the same map multiple times.

I on the other hand, I dont have so much time, so I usually run a map only 1 or 2 times, just to build up my atlas. But once I get to the shaping stage I dont remember which maps were nice. This is where an option to mark favorites maps would come into play

The "fix" to the "saved map tab position" and adding a favorite map highlight or a map info field that can be marked or toggled by the user are not contradictory or in conflict. I have to assume that both things would be fairly simple to implement? If they were both implemented, I would definitely take advantage of both features.

The ability to add a note to each map that you would automatically see when the map came on-screen would be great. If you could mark maps with colors as well (part of the note), then that would be even better.

The ability to queue up say, 10 maps at once would also be helpful and likely appreciated by many. Then you just click on "next" on the map screen after finishing a map (the details for the map you're about the enter displayed clearly on screen so you can remind yourself what mods to expect). This would be better than manually picking out one map at a time, which breaks up the sense of flow in gameplay. Or, if you want you can click on "cancel" to get the maps in the queue re-deposited back in the map stash tab and then you can take other actions instead.
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

Being able to queue up maps would be a nice alternative to them fixing the saved map tab position.
