uber elder, degen pools

how can i avoid this with a normal build?



i can block some spells, but i can't avoid all the degen pools,

what kind of damage they are? i have 79% all res

there are 2 types of pools, from elder and from shaper, more info about them?

if i have not 1-2 million dps, can i kill those bosses deathless? or without million regen...


edit update: My friend told me, shaper degen is cold, elder degen is physical.
I didn't have confirms or denials, so I take this as good.

Those pools are a DPS check aka if you're not killing those adds ASAP you have no place in that encounter until then.

So improve your build gear whatever.

I seem to recall those pools are cold damage over time.

As for how to avoid them, the only way to do that is to physically avoid them. Getting enough res isn't going to let you avoid them though it does help keep you alive if you have to go through them. Part of how you have to handle the fight (both Shaper on his own and Uber Elder) is drop those pools in places such that you can still move around them later.

But as I_NO is hinting at, the best defense is a good offense here. Keep in mind if you deal 40% more damage that means the encounter will take 100 / 1.4 = 71.42% as much time as before and if you were taking steady damage in the encounter that means you're taking nearly 30% less damage.

So yes, DPS is pretty much king when it comes to taking down bosses.

That's why this shit are stupid and lame design.

It's basically an mmo raid boss well on your own anyway pure DPS check fight on uber elder and it's 10 times more punishing on uber elder than normal shaper those fucking squid things drop it much more rapidly once there up.

Like the SS you gave us basically means in a non harsh tone that your DPS isn't very good or it is good but you're not killing those stupid ass squids.

yes, also if it's a dps check, i don't understand which kind of damage are they (elder pool and shaper pool), and if I can mitigate them in some way, items, pantheon, etc.

so, nobody knows, nobody helps, elder won!

Picking Ralakesh for the Elder fight is particularly useful as you get quite a few instances of physical DoT on you.
