Dual Wield Mjölner with the new Arc

Hey guys,
the new Arc is pretty awesome and gives us a lot of opportunities for new builds. Even Mjölner is an option again. Like Mathil I planned an Arc-Mjölner build, but I thought that I could Dual Wield Mjölner with two different Arc gems in each Mjölner. This morning I read on Reddit (link in Spoiler) that two Mjölner share the same Cooldown if they use two different Spell Gems of the same kind (like Arc). If this isn't true, please correct me. I think it's kind of stupid that two Mjölner share one cooldown, if this is true. Even if it's not true and they wouldn't share the same cooldown it's pretty difficult to get good numbers on PoB, so I'm asking myself if this is intentional from GGG or not.
Thanks to everyone who is taking his/her time to respond!
cheers!

Mjolnirs don't have a cooldown. Skills have a cooldown. If you put a skill (such as Arc) on a cooldown, through any trigger or through the cooldown inherent to the skill itself, you will not be able to use the same skill by any other means from any other source until the cooldown expires.

You can put a different skill in the other Mjolnir, and that skill will use its own cooldown. Spark is the only other lightning skill that can take advantage of the +2 chain bonus; but most other lightning skills work just fine. I am playing something like that right now, feel free to check out my profile.

Thanks for your fast and helpful answer!
My plan looks similar to yours, I plan a non-crit Jugg (for more defense in the endgame). Are you happy with your chars dps?
I'm still very early into the progression, and missing the last major component of the build (poison scaling with Volkuur's gloves and the last ascendancy point). So far the clearing speed has been top notch, easily obliterating anything on screen in maps five levels above mine. However, damage against bosses and tough rares suffers, especially in open areas where the sparks don't bounce back at them. This is the problem I want to solve with application of poison, we will see how it works out.

Right now what I need is more life and defenses. (Only at around 4k life currently.) I'm constantly scouring poe.trade for a 6l chestpiece with decent defenses to replace the tabula. Once I get that I think the character will be much better.

Man, what I would not give for a fast-hitting APS-focused general melee skill that wasn't fuckmothering Cyclone... Blade Flurry sorta counts, but you can't Flurry with a Mjolnir.

My brain keeps wanting to do something with Lightning Strike, but I know better. Stinkin' hammer. In what world is Mjolnir, the mystic hammer of the God of Thunder, bad at actually hitting things?

My first theorycraft was using Charged Dash as the activator skill. But CD has a bad interaction with dual-wielding (only uses one weapon per charge and alternates between them every skill use), and it only hits once every two "attacks". Getting it anywhere close to 8 aps consistently to max out the potential of Mjolner is nearly impossible.
