Defiled Proclamation goes to sleep if it kills you

I got killed by it and/or its group and respawned at the waypoint in the A6 Western Forest (don't judge!). When I returned, it was doing the golem sleep-idle and never stood up again. I was able to target, damage and kill it while in this state.
