Global Physical Damage?

I am fairly new to game & found a unique ring with a 5% increased "Global" Physical Damage Mod.

What does this do?

How is it different from normal increased physical damage?

Rings normally don't have "increased physical damage"-mods except for "adds X to Y physical damage to attacks"

The affix on your unique ring wants to tell you, that it is a "global" modifier, meaning it affects both spells and attacks.
